by Washington Monthly has just released its rankings of America’s Best Community Colleges, and Atlanta Technical College has been named one of the best in the country.
According to the Washington, D.C.-based magazine, Atlanta Tech ranks 48th among all U.S. community colleges. The rankings were based on two sources: the Community College Survey of Student Engagement and graduation rate statistics compiled by the US Department of Education. Unlike the typical guidebooks that rank four-year colleges, these findings were entirely based on measures with a research-proven link to student success.
Atlanta Technical College offers more than 100 programs of study and awards associates degrees, diplomas and technical certificates of credit. The College provides opportunities for education and career preparation in the areas of business and public service technologies, health and public safety technologies, and industrial and transportation technologies. During the 2009 academic year, Atlanta Tech experienced the third largest percent of growth among all technical colleges in the state.

We can not really feel this weight because there is air on all sides, and for that reason equivalent weight is exerted on our skin from all sides. The drive air exerts on an object is called air pressure. This pressure can be demonstrated by simple homeschool science experiments. Air exerts a stress of 14.seven psi (lbs per square inch) on an object, like our skin. This is the air stress that a large 1inch x one inch vertical column of air in the earth’s ambiance places on you and me, or any object at sea level. This is referred to as atmospheric strain.
